The Abshir Hassan Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Community Service will be presented each year to an incoming undergraduate student who has made a positive impact in their communities. To be eligible, applicants must be high school students graduating from Westview Centennial Secondary School, C. W. Jeffreys, Emery Collegiate Institute, John Polyani Collegiate Institute or York Memorial. Students must possess a minimum B average in their last year of high school and provide a written statement demonstrating their commitment to creating change in their community, as well as their volunteer and/or leadership activities. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need. A passionate teacher who strived to make a difference in his community, Abshir Hassan was a hard-working and caring individual well known and admired for his work with youth. As a dedicated student, Abshir earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from York's Faculty of Health and then his Bachelor of Education degree for York's Faculty of Education. At the time of his death, Abshir was working on his MEd, with plans to pursue his PhD at York.

Created by the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC), the FSL Bursary Program aims to encourage English-speaking students to pursue their post-secondary studies at a French-language institution or program; to help them in their efforts to learn, use and improve their French-language skills; and to expand their understanding of Francophone culture. Students will be selected on the following criteria: Must be enrolled in their first year of study with the Glendon faculty in a full-time course load; be Canadian citizens of permanent residents; have English as their first official language; have completed their high school studies in an English-language school; demonstrate their have sufficient knowledge of French; take at least 50% of their courses and participate in related activities in French. Students with financial challenges or from under-represented populations will receive special consideration.

Awarded to an entering first year student who has achieved a minimum admission average of 80 percent (or equivalent). Students must include a statement of their educational and career objectives under the personal statement section of the Student Financial Profile. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons who are residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Established by the partners of the late Allan Findlay, Q.C., in his memory, this award is to be granted to a student entering first year selected on the basis of pre-law academic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities including athletics, debating, student government, drama and the student newspaper. The scholarship will be awarded to Osgoode students every third year starting in 1986-87.

Candidates must be students in their final year of study in a secondary school who will be seeking admission into first year of undergraduate study at York University in any discipline. Candidates possess a minimum admission average of 90 per cent or equivalent and will have other accomplishments such as leadership in community service, achievement in arts or sports, or excellence in other areas of individual endeavour which demonstrates the wholeness of the person and grace of character. This award is renewed on the basis of continued high academic standing (minimum grade point average of 8.00). The York University Alumni Association donated these awards to celebrate their commitment to York University. The Association has a unique and valuable role to fill in promoting the excellence, welfare and future of the University. These awards will assist the newest generation of York students to realize their dreams.

The AOLS Educational Foundation Women in Geomatics Engineering or Geomatics Science Entrance Award will be granted to two (2) female-identifying undergraduate students entering the Geomatics program who demonstrate good academic standing and leadership qualities. These awards will complement any other award/scholarship that the student may receive. This award has been established under York University's Special Program for Women in Science pursuant to the Policy on Scholarships and Awards of the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

Named in memory of Atkinson alumnus Arthur F. Williams, this award is available to a secondary school student entering his/her first year of undergraduate study at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies who has completed at least one grade 12 university or university/college course (or the equivalent) in the Division of Canadian and World Studies and has a minimum overall average of 85 per cent. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, currently reside in the province of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. This award is renewable for one additional year.

These awards are available to students entering their first year of full-time undergraduate study at the University who are applying from a permanent residence in the City of Brampton (Ontario), who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, who have demonstrated financial need and who have a minimum 75 per cent admission average. After the first year, this award is renewable on an annual basis for up to three years of undergraduate study provided the recipient maintains a minimum grade point average of 7.00 and continues to demonstrate financial need.

These awards will be available to students entering their first year of full-time undergraduate study who are applying from a permanent residence in the City of Brampton (Ontario), who have a minimum 80 per cent admission average. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. The recipient must also have a proven commitment to service and society and a desire to continue that service as a leader while at York.

Awarded to applicants short-listed for the Awards of Distinction Scholarship. This scholarship can be held in conjunction with the York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship.

In memory of Benjamin Laufer, a member of the 1979 graduating class of Osgoode Hall Law School, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a student entering the first year of the JD program. It will be awarded on the basis of both academic merit and demonstrated financial need.

The firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, Toronto, has established five entrance scholarships which will be awarded annually to students entering the first year of the JD program with outstanding pre-law academic records.

The Bob Bain Bursary will be awarded annually to highly skilled basketball student athletes, entering or continuing at York University who are Canadian citizens, residents of Ontario and who demonstrate financial need. To be eligible for this award, students must meet the current Ontario University Athletics/Canadian Interuniversity Sport requirements for athletic awards.

Bobby Orr has generously funded an endowment at York University which provides an annual entrance scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship an applicant must apply to the Kinesiology and Health Science program. The applicant must also have a distinguished academic record at the secondary school level combined with extracurricular participation or service.

Through their generosity, the Bogoroch & Associates LLP Award has been established to assist students with their aspirations of achieving a law degree. Among the largest and most prestigious at Osgoode, this award is available to an entering student who demonstrates financial need and academic achievement. Preference will be given to a student from a disadvantaged group.

The 'Glendon FSL Award ' will be awarded annually to undergraduate students entering their first year of study at Glendon and who are interested in a career in teaching French as a second language. Students will be selected on the following criteria: Must be applying to Glendon's BA/ BEd undergraduate program; first official language must not be French. Special consideration will be given to students from under-represented populations or students majoring in French Studies.

The Campbell Moving Systems Inc. Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

In honour of York’s 11th Chancellor, Peter deCarteret Cory (LLB ’50), former Supreme Court of Canada justice and distinguished international jurist, this scholarship will be awarded to a student entering the university directly from secondary school who has achieved a minimum 90 per cent admission average and is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person. Recipients of this award are also eligible for the York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship.

Awarded to a new full-time Glendon student in exchange for 100 hours of community service in a francophone or bilingual setting in Toronto. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, be Ontario residents and demonstrate financial need.

The Columbia International Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Entrance Scholarship will be awarded to students from Columbia International College who are entering the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University with a final admission average of 90% and higher. The scholarship is valued at $1000 for students admitted with 95%+ and at $500 for students admitted with 90 - 94.9%.

The Computer Science, Computer Security & Information Technology Scholarship has been established to assist students entering a computer science, computer security, or information technology program. Recipients must present a secondary school admission average of 80 per cent or higher. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to two entering Glendon students who have won the Concours provincial de français contest.

The Costco Canada Award will be given to an incoming full-time BBA or iBBA student at the Schulich School of Business who demonstrates financial need and good academic standing. The recipient must be a resident of Ontario and either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person. The Costco Canada Award will be renewable in second, third and fourth year with the achievement of a minimum of 6.0 overall GPA (B).

These awards will be given annually to students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. Recipients will have a minimum 70% admission average.

Awarded to incoming Year 1 design students. This award is based on performance in the evaluation required for admission into the Design program.

This award will be given to a student who is a graduate of a school that has participated in the York University Westview Partnership (Westview Centennial Secondary School, C.W. Jeffrey's Collegiate Institute, Emery Collegiate Institute, James Cardinal McGuigan and North Albion Collegiate). To be considered, applicants must: i) be first generation Canadian (i.e. parents born in a country other than Canada); ii) be entering a direct-entry undergraduate program with a minimum admission average of 75% (or equivalent); AND iii) have made contributions to student life by volunteering in their secondary school or community. The recipient must also be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or protected person, a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Dr. Rhonda L. Lenton, President and Vice-Chancellor of York University, was the Dean of Atkinson Faculty of Liberal and Professional Studies from 2002 - 2008. Dr. Lenton established this scholarship in support of mature students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree. Recipients will be selected on the basis of the personal letter submitted in their university application package and must demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to an incoming BBA/iBBA student who has demonstrated exceptional academic ability in the high school graduating year. Recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to an outstanding student entering Glendon College who has demonstrated activity in international events through education, volunteerism or employment.

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies recognizes that students may be challenged in their pursuit of a postsecondary education because of limited financial resources. The Faculty is committed to providing such students with the opportunity to realize their goal to complete an undergraduate degree. Applicants must be admitted to the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies with a minimum admission average of 85 per cent. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, be Ontario residents and demonstrate financial need. This award is renewable up to three times. To renew, recipients must be in a minimum of 18 credits, academically eligible to continue in an Honours program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, and continue to demonstrate financial need.

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies International Student Entrance Scholarship will be awarded to international students entering the Faculty with top academic standing of 90% or higher. Eligible candidates with a GPA between 90% to 94.9% will receive $2,000; candidates with a GPA of 95% or higher will receive $3000.

Awarded to domestic and international high school applicants admitted to the Faculty of Science with an admission average of 90 per cent or above.

The Fiona Zhong Memorial Fund will be given to two undergraduate students entering full-time study in the Visual Arts BFA Honours program within the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design. Candidates must have received an admissions ranking of one (1) or excellent, on their artistic aptitude as rated by a Visual Arts faculty evaluator and must demonstrate financial need. This award is renewable for an additional three (3) years. In order to be eligible for renewal recipients must maintain a minimum gpa of 7.5, must be enrolled in at least one painting or drawing course in the year(s) in which he/she receives the scholarship and must continue to demonstrate financial need. Recipients will be required to submit one work of art, from the painting or drawing disciplines no larger than 16' x 20' and unframed, (or a preliminary sketch will be acceptable) that will be gifted to the donor.

This scholarship is open to newly admitted York University students in the Computer Science, Computer Security, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Space Engineering programs. Designed to recognize and reward students whose experience with FIRST has inspired an interest in pursuing an education in engineering or computing, candidates must submit a letter of application, describing how participation in FIRST Robotics Competition has been formative in their ambitions for further education along with a letter of reference from a teacher. A high school average of 85% or more is required and the scholarship is renewable subject to remaining in one of the specified programs, completing at least 24 credits per fall/winter session and achieving a cumulative GPA of 6.0.

The George and Catherine Fallis Entrance Award is intended to assist a student of promising ability who is challenged in their pursuit of a post-secondary education because of limited financial resources. The recipient must be a secondary school student entering first year of a bachelor of arts program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. They must have a minimum admission average of 85 per cent. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need. George and Catherine Fallis together were lifelong volunteers in Canadian society, supporters of social justice and liberal arts education. Their son, Dr. George Fallis, Dean of York University's Faculty of Arts from 1994 to 2001, established this award in their honour with the support of other family and friends.

The Glendon International Scholarship will be awarded to international students who are admitted to Glendon with top academic standing (85% and higher), and who demonstrate great leadership potential and/or financial need. Eligibility will be based on a nomination letter from the student's school or a community organization, a complete application including a 300 word statement demonstrating their leadership attributes and the contribution they may make to Glendon campus.

Candidates must be students in their final year of study in a secondary school who will be seeking admission into their first year of undergraduate study at York University in any discipline. As a Governors’ Award of Distinction, the Murray Ross Entrance Scholarship is one of York University’s most significant and prestigious awards. Murray G. Ross, a native of Nova Scotia, received his university education at Acadia University, the University of Toronto, the University of Chicago and Columbia University. He was a member of the academic staff of the University of Toronto and served as vice-president from 1957-1960. In 1960, Dr. Murray Ross became the President of York University. It was his insight, commitment and leadership which helped to build the University. This award honours York students who share these qualities.

The Great Canadian Bagel Limited Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Applicants must be seeking admission into the first year of undergraduate study, be a child, sibling or grandchild of a graduate holding a York University degree, have a minimum admission average of 90 per cent (based on grade 12 U/M courses, or equivalent) and have a demonstrated record of participation and leadership in extracurricular student life. This award is renewable in years two, three and four of undergraduate study provided the recipient maintains a minimum grade point average of 7.8.

The scholarship will be given annually to secondary school students admitted to a direct-entry undergraduate program at York University, who have achieved a minimum secondary school average of 80 per cent or its equivalent. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to international students (required to have a study permit for Canada) entering the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program in the Arts, Media, Performance & Design, Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Environmental and Urban Change, Glendon, Health, Science, Lassonde School of Engineering or Schulich School of Business. Applicants must have outstanding academic achievement ('A' average or equivalent). Applicants must have graduated from secondary school within the past two years. This award is for the first year of study only.

The Irwin Seating Company Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

Jaswant Singh Randhawa Memorial Foundation was established in memory of Jaswant (Jesse) Singh Randhawa, a successful business man, a devout Sikh, community leader and family man. He touched the lives of all those he met by his friendliness, warmth and good nature. This scholarship will be given to two Year 1 students from the City of Toronto, Peel Region or York Region. Eligible candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and residents of Ontario, who demonstrate financial need. Students must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80 per cent (A). Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated involvement in the Sikh community.

These scholarships will be awarded annually to students entering the first year of the JD program at Osgoode on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need. Established in memory of Joel Organek by his family, friends, clients and colleagues. Mr. Organek was a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School and a partner at Gowling, Strathy and Henderson.

The recipients of the John Brooks Community Foundation Scholarship are selected on the basis of academic achievement, admission to a full-time York University program and documented participation in extracurricular activities and community service. Preference will be given to applicants from visible minorities of African descent.

This annual entrance award will be given to an outstanding student choosing to pursue the study of kinesiology and health science at York University. The recipient must have a distinguished academic and extracurricular record at the secondary school level. The recipient must also be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to domestic and international high school applicants admitted to the Lassonde School of Engineering with an admission average of 90 per cent or above.

This scholarship will be awarded annually to an entering student on the basis of excellent academic qualifications.

The LLIR 40th Anniversary Scholarship was established through a generous donation from the Friends of Glendon in honour of Living and Learning in Retirement's 40th anniversary at Glendon. This entrance scholarship will be granted to the top incoming full-time Glendon student who graduated from an immersion or extended French programme in Ontario. To be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need.

The Loran Scholars Foundation finds and nurtures exceptional young Canadians who demonstrate character, service, and leadership potential. Since 1988, they have granted more than $50 million to over 2,900 students. Each year, they select up to 36 of the top students from approximately 5,000 applicants as Loran Scholars. Each scholar receives a renewable undergraduate award, comprised of an annual living stipend and matching tuition waiver from one of the foundation’s 25 partner universities and join the foundation in stewarding Loran Scholars throughout their studies; tri-sectoral summer internships funding (enterprise, public policy, and community development); one-on-one mentorship; and the opportunity to connect with other high-potential youth through scholar gatherings. The Loran Scholars Foundation also offers one-time finalist awards and provincial awards. These awards can be used at any public university in Canada.

The M.A.T.A. Entrance Award has been created to support students entering York University who are involved in community service or extra-curricular activities that generate networking and improvement of social skills. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, a resident of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

The firm of Miller Thomson LLP provides this entrance award to a student entering the JD Program at Osgoode Hall Law School. The recipient must have a record of academic excellence, demonstrate leadership through their extra-curricular activities, community involvement, and demonstrate financial need.

The Monika Federau Scholarship for Women in Business will be awarded annually to a first year female student enrolled in the BBA or iBBA program at York's Schulich School of Business. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident. Selection will be based in a minimum grade of 90% for students entering from high school. The scholarship will provide recipients the (optional) opportunity to be mentored by the donor. Monika Federau is the Chief Strategy Officer for Intact Financial Corporation where she leads the development of corporate strategies, and oversees branding, government relations and communications. She joined Intact in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Marketing responsible for national advertising, communication and sponsorship strategies, as well as research and digital initiatives. Prior to Intact, Ms, Federau lived in Hong Kong working for a global life insurer where she was responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance the company's brand throughout Asia. Monika serves on the Board of the Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada, the Board of UNICEF Canada, the Advisory Board for the Smith School of Business at Queen's University, and is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Toronto Finance International.

The NEWAD Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community, have demonstrable financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person and be a resident of Ontario. NEWAD is a nation-wide indoor advertising network.

Awarded based on academic excellence to a student with a demonstrated interest in and a commitment to public service.

The award was established by Mr. Nichol Ma and K.M. Ma to value and remember those who are kind, generous and hard-working. This award will be granted to an entering student who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to a student who has previously completed an undergraduate degree at a recognized University and are entering an undergraduate degree program in economics, mathematics, or business.

The Nissan Canada Leadership Entrance Award will be given annually to an incoming Schulich School of Business BBA or iBBA student who academic achievement. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need.

Awarded to a new full-time Glendon student in exchange for community service in a francophone or bilingual setting in Toronto. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, be Ontario residents and demonstrate financial need.

The Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Entrance Scholarship will be awarded annually to two students who have been admitted to the Engineering program in the Lassonde School of Engineering. To be considered applicants must demonstrate academic excellence ( minimum admission average of 80%) and must demonstrate at least one of the following: a. leadership qualities through participation in extra-curricular activities or programs; b. commitment to participation in extra-curricular activities in school or the community like student government, clubs and team sports; c. superior volunteerism (well beyond requirements for high school graduation); or d. financial need. Applicants are strongly encouraged to enroll in the free student membership programs of Professional Engineers Ontario (engineeringstudents.peo.on.ca) and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (http://www.ospe.on.ca/?page=cat stud). The Oscar Peterson Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student entering the Music degree program who demonstrates a unique musical ability, especially in the field of jazz performance, as demonstrated through live performance or a portfolio. The recipient must present a minimum admission average of 80 percent and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and reside in of Ontario. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is renewable for a maximum of three additional years provided the recipient enrolls in a minimum of 18 credits each year and achieves a sessional GPA of 7.50.

Established by the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association to honour of some of the most distinguished alumni who are the recipients of the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association's Award of Excellence, the Robinette Medal. This scholarship will be granted to students entering the first year of the JD program or a joint program (JD/ MBA/MPA; JD/MES) with an A- average or higher who show academic excellence in pre-law work and promise of continued academic excellence. The scholarships included in this program include: The John D. Arnup Entrance Scholarship, The Brendan O'Brien Entrance Scholarship, The G. Arthur Martin Entrance Scholarship and The John J. Robinette Entrance Scholarship. Scholarships will be given out on a rotational basis

This award has been created by Osgoode Hall Law School as part of its ongoing support of access to legal education. The award will cover tuition for two full-time JD students with high financial need. Preference will be given to one Aboriginal student and one sole-support caregiver. The award is renewable in each of the second and third year of the JD program provided the student continues to have demonstrated financial need, remains in good academic standing and maintains full-time status.

The Perigoe Family Scholarship will be awarded annually to the top incoming Glendon student(s) majoring in English who demonstrates financial need. The Perigoe Family Scholarship commemorates the deep roots of a dedicated alumni family to Glendon. Lillian Perigoe and John Perigoe met as students and were subsequently married in Glendon's Senate Chamber in 1965. Their son, Rae Perigoe (1978 - 2018), also a Glendon alumnus, was involved in Drama and the Glendon Music Ensemble as a student. Both Lillian and Rae benefited from scholarships awarded to Glendon awards. All three of alumni have wonderful memories of excellent teachers and a supportive administration at Glendon. In 2018, the family created this scholarship as a fitting tribute and to inspire and encourage future generations at Glendon.

The President's International Scholarship of Excellence will be awarded to international high school applicants who are entering their first year of a four-year undergraduate degree program at York University and demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and leadership skills. A minimum 80% (A) final admission average is required for consideration. Financial need may also be considered in the selection process. Recipients will represent a variety of regions around the world and will be referred to as 'President's International Scholars'. This scholarship will be renewable for an additional three years of full-time study or until degree completion (whichever comes first) provided the recipient completes a minimum of 24 credits each Fall/Winter session with a minimum sessional grade point average of 6.0. If recipient's immigration status changes at any time while studying at York and they are exempted from paying international fees for any reason, the value of this award will be adjusted to reflect domestic tuition fee values.

The Provost Award will be given to: 1) Ontario College applicants who have completed one year of full time study or equivalent (excludes students in certificate programs, and students going into a second degree) at a college of applied arts and technology in Ontario within the past three years with an overall grade point average of 3.30 or better on a 4-point scale (B+/75 per cent or equivalent on a York grading scale) including all attempted courses. Candidates will be assessed on their most recent post secondary studies only, and must be admitted to an undergraduate degree program at York. Applicants who are ineligible for transfer credit consideration are excluded. 2)Ontario University Transfer applicants who have completed the equivalent of one full year of study (4 full courses/8 half courses) with an overall grade point average of 3.00 or better on a 4-point scale (B/70 per cent or equivalent on a York grading scale). Candidates will be assessed on their most recent post secondary studies only, and must be admitted to an undergraduate degree program at York. Applicants who have previously completed a university degree are excluded.

The Quebec Entrance Scholarship is awarded to Glendon applicants from CEGEPs who hold the DEC, have the highest academic average and are eligible for admission to Year 2.

The award will be given annually to a student entering his/her first year in a major program within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of extracurricular involvement in a math-related club and/or activity. Should there not be a suitable Year 1 candidate, the award will be given to an upper-year mathematics and statistics student who has demonstrated a record of extracurricular involvement in a math-related club and/or activity, is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrates financial need.

Awarded annually to a student entering the first year class at Osgoode Hall Law School. The scholarship will be awarded principally on the basis of academic excellence as demonstrated by the recipient's performance in her/his pre-law studies at a Canadian university. Other factors, including the recipient's participation/leadership in extracurricular university or community activities may also be considered.

Awarded to a Year 1 Glendon student with high academic standing, coming from a province east of Ontario. This award has been established in memory of a former Glendon student.

Roseann Runte, principal of Glendon from 1989 to 1994, supported academic excellence in both French and English as a key to global understanding and peace. This scholarship was established in recognition of the special role of bilingualism in laying the foundation for communication on the national and international level. Student must be entering their first year of studies and have high academic achievement and leadership. Open to Glendon College applicants showing a commitment to bilingualism.

Awarded to an incoming student admitted to Glendon College who has been home schooled and demonstrates financial need. Should there be no suitable applicants in a given year the award will be held over until the following year.

This scholarship will be granted to an undergraduate student who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and a resident of Ontario, and who demonstrates financial need. The recipient of this scholarship will have achieved a minimum admission average of 80% (or equivalent). Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated leadership in youth lead social or cultural activities that contribute to communities or organizations where Spanish is a primary language. Where no candidate of preference applies, selection will be based on the balance of the criteria. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and resident of Ontario, who demonstrates financial need.

One scholarship valued at $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years) will be awarded to a Schulich Leader Nominee admitted to an Engineering program. An additional scholarship valued at $80,000 ($20,000 x 4 years) will be awarded to a Schulich Leader Nominee admitted to Science, Technology, or Mathematics. Candidates must possess two of the following three attributes: 1. Has exceptional high academic grades 2. Has demonstrated leadership in school life and community life, or has provided evidence of entrepreneurial talent: or 3. Has demonstrated financial need This award is renewable in years two, three and four of undergraduate study provided the student maintains continued full time enrolment status in a STEM Faculty/program and successfully completes a full time course load. In the event that the recipient of an Engineering scholarship transfers into a science, technology or math program, the value of the scholarship will be adjusted accordingly. Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible for the YU Automatic Entrance Scholarship or the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.

In recognition of academic excellence and merit, Seymour Schulich has created the Seymour Schulich BBA Entrance Scholarship. The scholarships are presented to incoming BBA students who have demonstrated academic excellence. Recipients will have been active in their community and demonstrated leadership qualities either in school or through extracurricular activities.

Awarded to a student from Newfoundland entering their first year of a JD program. Selected on the basis of academic excellence and public services.

Established by Suzanne Holland Leggett, in honour of the memory of her husband, Stephen George Leggett Q.C. (1936-1994). Stephen Leggett was an alumnus of Osgoode Hall Law School, Class of 1960, and was one of the leading Crown Attorneys of the Province of Ontario for 30 years. This scholarship will be awarded to a student entering the first year of the JD program, based primarily on demonstrated financial need but also academic excellence.

The Steven K. Hudson BBA Entrance Award is given to a Year 1 BBA/iBBA student who has achieved first class standing (A) in their senior year of high school and has shown strong entrepreneurial achievements. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need. Steven (BBA ’81) and Sharon Hudson have established this award. Steven Hudson is a strong supporter of the York Community.

In recognition of academic excellence and merit, Seymour Schulich has created the Tanna H. Schulich BBA Entrance Scholarship. The scholarship is presented to incoming BBA students who have demonstrated academic excellence. The recipient will have been active in their community and demonstrated leadership qualities either in school or through extracurricular activities.

This award has been established to provide an annual award to a deserving secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have a minimum 85 per cent admission average, demonstrate financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person and be a resident of Ontario. The Alexander Lithographers Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario and demonstrate financial need.

The Annie Demirjian '77 Scholarship will benefit undergraduate international students who are admitted to Glendon with top academic standing (of 85% or higher) and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to applicants who are Francophone*. Students will be required to have a letter of nomination submitted by their school of a community organization. Students must also include a 300 word statement demonstrating their leadership attributes and the contribution they might make to Glendon Campus. *Francophone students refers to students who have a particular knowledge of French as an Official Language and use of French at home, including people whose mother tongue may not be French or English.

This award will be granted to students of aboriginal ancestry with one award recipient selected from each of the Provincial Territorial Organizations in Ontario (currently Nishnabwe-Aski Nation, Ontario Federation of Indian Friendship Centres, Anishinabek Nation/ Union of Ontario Indians, Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians, Grand Council Treaty No. 3, Métis Nation of Ontario). Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need and who present a minimum admission average of 70 per cent. Recipients of the award will be required to take part in a mentorship program. To renew award students must register in a minimum of 18 credits during the entire academic year (previous summer and fall/winter sessions)and maintain a sessional grade point average of 6.00 (B).

This award is available to students from Westview Centennial Secondary School, C.W. Jeffrey’s Collegiate Institute, Emery Collegiate Institute, James Cardinal McGuigan and North Albion Collegiate who are entering a direct-entry undergraduate program who have made a contribution to student life in their secondary school or community. Students must have achieved a minimum admission average of 75 per cent and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need. This award is renewable for a maximum of three additional years. Recipients of a renewable award must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 6.00 and participate in mentoring programs offered in local community schools to support and encourage younger students to persist in their current studies and pursue postsecondary education. This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another renewable entrance scholarship, the York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship or the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.

The Ethel Harris Entrance Scholarships at Glendon will be granted to entering undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and are applying to Glendon from outside of Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate financial need and who are residents of another Canadian province or territory. The award will be given to students entering their first year of study in the Faculty of Health who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, who are residents of Ontario, demonstrate financial need and have achieved a minimum admission average of 75 percent. Students who continue to meet the above criteria will be eligible to renew the award in their second, third and fourth year of study.

Awarded to international students required to have a study permit for Canada entering the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program in Environmental and Urban Change, School of Arts, Media, Performance and Design, Glendon, Health, Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Science, Lassonde or the Schulich School of Business. Applicants must have outstanding academic achievement (A average or equivalent) and have other accomplishments such as community service or excellence in the arts, sports or other areas of individual achievement. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have graduated from high school within the past two years.

Awarded to undergraduate students applying for admission from a Canadian secondary school who exhibits exemplary citizenship qualities as represented by the Future Aces philosophy (community service, volunteerism and humanitarian causes). Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, residents of Ontario, provide evidence of potential for success to continue postsecondary education and demonstrate financial need.

The Toronto Star has established these awards in honour of its Chair, Beland Honderich. Their purpose is to encourage deserving secondary school students to pursue a university education. A student in their penultimate year at James Cardinal McGuigan Secondary School, C.W. Jefferys Secondary School, Emery Collegiate Institute and Westview Centennial Secondary School will be chosen by the schools annually. The award is renewable for an additional three years. Students are guaranteed a summer job at the Toronto Star at the end of their first year.

This entrance scholarship was established in honour of the late Honourable Bert J. MacKinnon, Associate Chief Justice of Ontario. It will be awarded each year to a student entering the first year of Osgoode Hall Law School who demonstrates: scholastic ability; qualities of truthfulness, unselfishness, courage, and sympathy; leadership ability, including moral force of character, interest in others and in public affairs; and fondness for and success in athletic activities. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need.

This award will be given annually to a student(s) entering the JD program at Osgoode Hall Law School who has a record of academic excellence and who demonstrates financial need. Preference will be given to a student(s) from outside of Ontario.

Awarded to a student entering the first year of study at Osgoode Hall Law School who has excellent academic standing, a record of community or extra-curricular involvement. Recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and a resident of Ontario who demonstrates financial need.

This scholarship will be awarded to the top students who enter the first year of the JD program or a joint program (JD/MBA/MPA; JD/MES) at Osgoode with an A- average or better, demonstrating academic excellence. Recipients who maintain an academic standing in the top 20% of the class will receive a a partial scholarship in each of the second and third years of the undergraduate law program. The Hon. William G. C. Howland Award of Excellence Entrance Scholarship was established by the Osgoode Hall Law School Alumni Association and has been funded as a renewable entrance scholarship through a generous bequest from the estate of the late William Goldwin Carrington Howland, O.C., Ont., C.St.J. (LLB'39; LLD 1984). He practised law, lectured on mortgages, served as Chair of the Legal Education Committee of the Law Society of Upper Canada at the time that Osgoode Hall Law School became affiliated with York University, and served with distinction as Treasurer of the Law Society and as Chief Justice of Ontario.

Awarded to a student entering first year who has achieved a minimum admission average of 70% (or equivalent) who is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, who is a resident of Ontario and demonstrates financial need. Recipients will be eligible to renew this award for a maximum of three additional years provided they maintain a cumulative GPA of 6.00 (B).

Ignat Kaneff was born in Bulgaria and at age 14 left for Austria before immigrating to Canada at age 24. Soon thereafter, he founded the Kaneff Group of Companies, a greater Peel region-based real estate development and construction company. The Ignat Kaneff Scholarship for Academic Excellence was established by his family in honour of his 80th birthday to commemorate his strong dedication to his community and his commitment to promoting equal opportunities through higher education among Canadians. This Scholarship will be awarded to an entering JD student who has record of academic excellence in her or his undergraduate studies. The Van-Rob Inc. Award has been established to provide an annual award to a secondary school student entering a first-year program at York University. The successful applicant must have an admission average of 85 per cent or higher, have made a contribution to the life of their school or community, have demonstrable financial need, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person and be a resident of Ontario. Van-Rob Inc. is a supplier of metal stampings, mechanical and modular assemblies to the OEM and after market.

This award will be granted to students who are graduates of Westview Centennial Secondary School. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum admission average of 80 per cent. All Westview graduates applying to York University are eligible to apply.

Tibor Prince was called to the Bar in Romania in 1936. He and his wife eventually had to flee their country and came to Canada. Throughout his life Tibor Prince believed that hard work and integrity were the keys to success. This scholarship was established to honour his memory and to reward a student who has demonstrated these values through their academic record. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is entering the JD program at Osgoode Hall Law School with excellent academic standing.

This award will be offered to a secondary school student entering the first year of a direct entry program at York University from a high school in the York Region, inclusive of the municipalities of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch- Stouffville. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, an Ontario resident and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a minimum final admission average of 80 per cent to be considered.

Awarded to an incoming Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) undergraduate student who has achieved a minimum 80 per cent admission average and has written an excellent 1,000 word essay on their vision of sustainability. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and demonstrate financial need. The Yamana Gold First Generation Award is part of York University's prestigious Circle of Scholars Awards. The award provides financial assistance to students entering University who are the first member of their family to pursue post-secondary education and who have achieved a minimum admission average of 80% (or equivalent). Recipients will be eligible to renew this award for a maximum of three additional years provided that they maintain a minimum GPA of 6.00 (B). Should the student not be eligible to renew, the award will be given to a student entering first year, as described above. Recipients must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need.

Students will be considered on the basis of their final admissions average (including prerequisites). Scholarship values are as follows: 95% and higher = $4000; 90 - 94.9% = $2500; 85% - 89.9% = $1500; and 80% - 84.9% = $1000. This scholarship is renewable for students admitted with a final average of 95%+ only. In order to renew, recipients must maintain a minimum 8.00 sessional grade point average and enroll in a minimum of 24 credits for their first Fall/Winter academic year to qualify for the second year renewal. Thereafter, the renewal will be based on a minimum 8.00 grade point average on all credits completed in the previous summer and fall/winter sessions (i.e. for Fall/Winter 2020-2021, the terms considered will Summer 2019 and Fall/Winter 2019-2020). Recipients at 95%+ who are students with disabilities may renew this scholarship by maintaining a min 8.00 GPA over a minimum 40% course load (6 credits per term). Students must self-identify and show proof of disability at the first time of renewal. Once lost, this scholarship cannot be regained.A conditional scholarship offer will be made at the time of admission. The final scholarship amount will be determined when final grades are received.

This bursary is available to status and non-status undergraduate students of aboriginal ancestry who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and are residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need. The bursary is renewable for a maximum of three additional years provided the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of a 5.00 (C+) and enrolment in a minimum of 18 credits.

Awarded to students with a record of outstanding achievement who are admitted under the mature student basis of admission. Selection will be based on strong academic performance or work history, community or volunteer experience and personal development as well as clearly outlined interests and goals for university studies.

York University offers President’s Scholarships to those secondary school applicants, to a first year daytime undergraduate program, with the highest entrance averages. These scholarships are renewable for an additional three years of undergraduate study provided the student maintains a sessional grade point average of 8.00 and registers in a minimum of 18 credits in the fall/winter session. Once lost this scholarship cannot be regained.

Award based on performance in the audition or evaluation required for admission to the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design. This scholarship can be held in conjunction with the York University Entrance Scholarship, if eligible.

Available to students entering their first year of full-time undergraduate study. Candidates must have a minimum 80% admission average and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, and residents of Ontario who demonstrate financial need. In addition, candidates must demonstrate proven commitment to service and society and a desire to continue that service as a leader while at York. Recipients will be required to implement a Visionary Leadership project during their undergraduate studies that will focus on leadership. In order to renew this scholarship, recipients must have a successful annual review of their leadership project, must maintain a cumulative gpa of a 7.50 and must maintain full-time enrolment status (minimum of 18 credits for the fall/winter academic session). This scholarship cannot be held in conjunction with another renewable entrance scholarship or the York University Continuing Student Scholarship.
